1. Seed points shall be awarded to the top six placing teams in each age division as follows:

1st Place - 10 Points

2nd Place -  7 Points

3rd Place -  5 Points

4th Place -   4 Points

5th Place -  2 Points

6th Place -   1 Point

2. When determining the seeds, the chairman shall use the previous years results for the age division being computed, and the results of the youngest age division.

Example:

14U/8th Grade:                                                             15U/9th Grade:

Asheville Tar heels        1st        10 pts                           Carolina Stars               1st        10 pts

Tar Heel Runners          2nd          7 pts                           Carolina Dunkers          2nd          7 pts

Carolina Stars               3rd          5 pts                           Tar Heel Runners          3rd          5 pts

Mountain Flyers            4th          4 pts                           Piedmont Shooters       4th          4 pts

Winston Kings  6th          1 pt                            Mountain Flyers            6th          1 pt

Therefore, 15U Seeding for the current year would be:

1st Seed                        Carolina Stars                           15 Points

2nd Seed                       Tar Heel Runners                      12 Points

3rd Seed                       Asheville Tar heels                    10 Points

4th Seed                       Carolina Dunkers                        7 Points

5th Seed                       Mountain Flyers                          5 Points

6th Seed                       Piedmont Shooters                     4 Points

7th Seed                       Raleigh Lasers                            2 Points

8th Seed                       Coastline Lions               2 Points

9th Seed                       Winston Kings                1 Point

If clubs have the same number of seed points, the club placing highest in the younger age division will be seeded higher. (See example above for 7th and 8th Seed)

3. The top seed becomes the #1 team in Pool A; the second seed is #1 in Pool B, etc.

4. If there are more seeded teams than pools, the extra teams will be placed in the lower seeded pools (in paragraph 2 example, in a pool  tournament, seed #9 would be with #7, and #8 with #6.

5. Unseeded teams will be placed by draw. Returning teams will be drawn first then new teams.

6. Clubs which enter more teams than one team in a tournament should designate the seed team.

7. The winner of the pool (whether seeded or not) will advance to the bracket set to receive the seed of that pool, (i.e.: the winner pool A will always advance to the top seed bracket, B winner to 2nd seed bracket, etc.)

8. This system should:

            a. Provide for competitive balance

            b. Encourage clubs to compete in multiple age groups
