You MUST read this if you coach a 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade team.
NCAAU DI and DII Pool Play for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade will be played during the NCAA “Live Time”. That means that college coaches can attend to evaluate your players. There are VERY STRICT rules in place for all NCAA certified events, and you MUST comply before you are allowed to sit on the team bench.
All coaches and teams must be NCAA certified!
Coaches: * All non-athlete personnel must become NCAA certified!
*Go to http://www.ncaa.org/basketballcertification
. You will be required to take a short test, and pay a fee for criminal background check.
*After a waiting period, you will be given a certification number (certification is good for 2 years. If you got certified last year the number you received then will still be valid and you will not need to recertify until 2013.
*The NCAAU has retained a compliance officer who will attend the “live” events to ensure compliance.
*Absolutely no one will sit the bench during pool play without a valid certification number.
Teams: *You MUST submit your roster to the NCAA
*Go to http://web1.ncaa.org/BBCS/exec/login to submit the roster –
THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL AAU ROSTER! (You will turn in the AAU Roster at your first pool game.)
*START EARLY! It takes 7 – 10 days to get your number.
*Your team will NOT be allowed to participate if you haven’t submitted the roster to the NCAA.
*12TH grade pool play has been added to the schedule so that seniors can be evaluated.
